Jim Cartmill, President and CEO of Let’s Talk Health – a multi-million dollar nutritional supplement company based in Chula Vista, California is featured on the cover of the book with Dr. Denis Waitley, internationally acclaimed speaker and author; Stephen M.R. Covey, son of Stephen Covey of Covey Training and Marjorie Blanchard, author and wife of Ken Blanchard who wrote One Minute Manager and numerous other best-sellers.
A Chula Vista native, Jim Cartmill was locally educated at Cook Elementary School, Hilltop Junior High School, Bonita Vista High School, Southwestern College and graduated with a BA degree from San Diego State University.
He currently serves as President of the Sweetwater Union High School District Board of Trustees. The Sweetwater District is the largest secondary school district in the nation serving 80,000 students and 4,500 employees in our middle schools, high schools and adult schools with an annual budget of $300 million dollars.
Prior to his election, Jim Cartmill coached the Bonita Vista girls’ tennis team—a group that included all-American and nationally ranked players—to an undefeated 87-0 league record. He also was the “mental/motivation coach” for Rhoni Barton, 1997 National Overall Water Ski Champion.
In 2000, a routine physical determined that Jim was clinically obese. He set a goal to run a marathon within a year and completed the Rock n Roll Marathon in June of 2001 – losing 50 pounds during the training process. His focus in the book is on developing a dream team around you to create behavioral changes in your life to create balance.

Jim and his wife Cindy are Chula Vista residents and have a daughter, Blythe Marie, who is a second grader at Olympic View Elementary School and a son Jason, who just returned from Iraq serving as an Army Field Medic for the third infantry.
